Respiratory Therapist

Shift Information: Day Shift (0630-1900), Three twelve-hour shifts weekly (36 hours), No guarantee of hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Certifications required:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Providing continuous airway management.
• Administering ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management and support.
• Consulting with physicians regarding respiratory therapy.
• Performing CPR and all aspects of respiratory care.

Equipment Utilized

You will work with the following equipment:

• Computerized charting systems
• Pyxis medication management
• PB 980 and PB 840 Ventilators
• V60 Ventilator
• Para Pac Transport Ventilator

Patient Care

This role requires the ability to care for patients across various age groups, including:

• Adults
• Pediatrics
• Neonates

Licensure and Certification

Candidates must hold the following:

• State of Hawaii respiratory therapist license (active upon acceptance of offer).
• Current RRT certification.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NRP preferred.

Prior to the start of the assignment, proof of flu vaccination or an approved application for medical or religious exemption will be required. The flu vaccination may be administered during the employee health clearance appointment.

Contract Duration

This position is for a 15-week contract.
