Registered Nurse (RN) – Transplant Service

Unit Information

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit: Transplant Services (Abdominal – Liver, Kidney, & Pancreas)

• Number of Staff: 60-70
• Type of Staff: RN
• Day Shift: Outpatient 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
• Night Shift: Not applicable
• Type of Equipment: Desk work with proficiency in MediTech and Microsoft Office required
• EMR: Meditech, TransChart, PatientKeeper

Job Responsibilities

• Engage in primarily desk-based work, utilizing required computer skills.
• Participate in potential clinic days, including rooming and assessing patients.
• Attend WebEx meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Candidates without transplant experience are encouraged to apply, demonstrating a willingness to assist and adapt.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of transplant experience.
  • Experience with the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS).
  • Experience in an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO).

The ideal candidate will exhibit flexibility in patient assignments, encompassing pre-transplant, waitlist, and post-solid organ transplant care. A caring and compassionate demeanor is essential for addressing the complex psychosocial needs of patients.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs or business casual attire is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability Monday through Friday, during outpatient hours.
