Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry services.

Unit Information

• Unit: 4W Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 31 beds (11 private & 10 semi-private)
• Patient Ratios: 1 to 4
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
• Nurse Aides: Available (2 on days & 1 on nights)
• Common Diagnoses: Post pacemaker placement, hemodialysis, new onset atrial fibrillation, and patients requiring observation and management of cardiac conditions.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per month, with specific weekend shifts assigned
• Holiday Requirements: Expected to participate in the holiday rotation, which includes working at least one major and one minor holiday.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in telemetry nursing preferred
• Ability: Must be proficient in reading and interpreting all cardiac rhythms, and managing patients on CPAP or BiPAP.

Work Environment

• Charge Nurse Structure: Shift Manager and a Resource Nurse available
• Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• IV Team: Not available
• Floating Policy: Travelers may float to Med Surg units as needed

Attire

Scrub Color: Navy blue. Undershirts must be either navy, white, or black.

Orientation

Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor to ensure a smooth transition into the unit.
