Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Denver, CO

Unit Type: Telemetry/Med Surg with PCU

Number of Beds: 32

Staffing: 7-12 staff members per shift

Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per RN

Equipment: GE Telemetry system

EMR: Meditech

General Information

This Telemetry unit provides care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and general medical surgical care. Staff includes RNs, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Sitters. Typical shift composition includes 1 charge RN and several staff RNs and CNAs.

Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • Minimum 1 year of current hospital Telemetry experience
  • BLS and ACLS certification
• Preferred:
  • Experience caring for post-operative CABG patients
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures

• IV and Foley catheter insertion
• Chest tube removal
