Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Tele Float Pool. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care within a dynamic telemetry environment, ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in a telemetry setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 to 5:1.
• Titrate intravenous drips such as insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams including respiratory therapists and unit aides.
• Utilize GE telemetry monitors and interpret patient strips independently.
• Float to various departments including medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in telemetry or step-down nursing.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Tele Float Pool
• Common patient diagnoses include ETOH, DKA, heart failure, sepsis, and stroke.
• The unit has 38 beds with support from monitor technicians.
• Equipment familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen is beneficial.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Times: Days from 0645 to 1915
• Weekend and holiday requirements vary.

Additional Information

• No call or standby requirements.
• Orientation includes a 1-day session per unit.
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs.
