Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse working in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) during the night shift. The anticipated start date for new applicants is November 16, unless you are a returning traveler within the last nine months.

Shift Information

• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Typically every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Coverage Required: Yes

Responsibilities

The RN will work 36 hours per week and may be tasked with floating to other units during periods of low volume or staffing coverage, though this is not expected. The RN will provide care to cardiac step-down patients, including:

• Heart catheterization recovery
• Administration of cardiac drips
• Post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients

While ventilator patients are not typically admitted to this unit, the RN may occasionally be required to care for a ventilated patient based on patient needs and staffing requirements. Candidates should be comfortable providing care in such circumstances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of cardiac step-down experience
• Experience with open-heart surgery patients
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
