Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role involves providing nursing care within an inpatient rehabilitation unit. The nurse will be an integral part of a collaborative team, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.

Unit Information

• Location: Corpus Christi, TX
• Number of Beds: 15
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse (full load), 2 RNs, 1 CNA
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse (full load), 2 RNs, 1 CNA
• Patient Ratios: 5:1, maximum 6:1
• Equipment: Vital sign machines, transfer equipment (Hoyer lift, sliding boards, etc.), EKG, bladder scanner, and more.
• EMR System: Meditech, Pyxis

Responsibilities

• Perform patient transfers and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and conduct bladder scans.
• Participate in bedside report and handoff processes.
• Conduct hourly rounding and ensure bed alarm activation.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Transfer training
  • EMR proficiency
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation scoring documentation
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current RN Licensure

Work Schedule

The nurse will be required to work every other weekend and on holidays.
