Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team in a child and adolescent unit specializing in pediatric psychiatry. This unit serves patients aged 5-18 who are experiencing acute mental health crises. Our focus is on stabilization through a variety of therapeutic group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, complemented by psychopharmacological interventions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals.
• Provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care to patients.
• Engage in treatment sessions and support group activities.
• Monitor patients’ mental and physical health, documenting changes and interventions.
• Administer medications and manage psychopharmacological treatments.
• Ensure adherence to safety and treatment protocols within the unit.

Schedule

This position involves a rotating shift schedule, including days, evenings, and nights, with weekend and holiday availability required.

Qualifications

• NYS RN License
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric mental health
• BLS certification (AHA only)

Preferred Qualifications

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) blue card
• Experience in a large academic medical center
