Unit Information

This unit specializes in geriatric psychiatric care and includes:

• Number of Beds: 9
• Staff: 7
• Patient Ratios: 5-9
• Equipment: Vital signs machine, Hoyer lift, glucometer, IVs, bladder scanner, bed alarms, chair alarms, crash cart
• Electronic Medical Record System: Cerner

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a behavioral health or medical setting
• Skills:

  • Assessment skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Critical thinking abilities
• Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to de-escalate patients effectively
  • Flexibility in handling various situations

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Participating in rapid response and code blue situations
• Performing bladder scans and blood draws as needed
