General Information
- Number of Beds: 14-22
- Staffing: Dependent on acuity and census
- Day Shift Staff: CNC / 4-6 nurses, unit secretary preferred
- Night Shift Staff: CNC / 4-6 nurses, unit secretary preferred
- Patient Ratios: Medical/Surgical 4:1
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech
Qualifications
- Required Skills:
- BLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Preferred Skills:
- ACLS Certification
Typical Procedures
The following procedures are commonly performed in the unit:
- Cleft palate repair
- Appendectomy
- Chest tube management
- Lumbar punctures
- Seizure management
- Non-invasive cardiology only
- Thoracic cases such as thoracotomy and thoracoscopy
- Pectus bar implants
Personality Fit
The ideal candidate will be supportive and collaborative, promoting a full team environment where all staff assist one another.
Floating Areas
Potential floating to NICU Level 1 or 2.
Dress Code
The required scrub color is royal blue.
Work Schedule
- 4 weekend days every 4 weeks
- No on-call requirements
