Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: Denver, CO

Number of Beds: 20

Staffing:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 9 Bedside RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 9 Bedside RNs

Patient Ratios: 1:2; 1:1

Equipment Utilized: Philip monitors, Alaris and Medfusion IV pumps

Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to pediatric patients in critical condition. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of current PICU RN experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in post-operative cardiac care
• Skills in venous puncture

Typical Procedures Performed

• Conscious sedations
• Management of respiratory failure (Endotracheal Tube, High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation)
• Chest Tube placement
• Central line maintenance and care
