• Unit Name: PICU
• Number of Beds: 9
• Patient Ratios: PICU 1 RN to 1-2 patients, Stepdown 1 RN to 2-3 patients
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy blue or white

General Information

• Scheduling Requirements: Must work 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
• Floating Policy: May float to pediatric and neonatal units
• Experience Requirements: 1 year of PICU experience required

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures including IV starts, catheterizations, holding for lumbar punctures, central line dressing changes, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, intracranial pressure monitoring, and ventilator management

Certification Requirements

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
