Unit Information

• Unit Name: Pediatric Intensive Care
• Number of Beds: 6
• Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
• Equipment: Alaris IV pump, Bair hugger, Kangaroo Feeding Pump, Giraffe infant warmer, Ventilators, BiPap, High Flow O2
• Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech/Pyxis

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct spinal taps and perform sedation for procedures.
• Titrate critical drips including sedation, vasoactive, and paralytic medications.
• Assist with sedated MRIs, EKGs, EEGs, and telemetry monitoring.
• Perform port access and discontinuation procedures.
• Support intubation and extubation processes.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of 1 year pediatric ICU nursing experience.
• Preferred: Experience in PICU or NICU settings and familiarity with other women’s health areas such as labor and delivery or ob/gyn.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS

Floating Requirements

May float to the NICU for low acuity cases or to other designated areas if qualified.

Dress Code

Teal scrubs are required.

Work Schedule

Rotating weekends may be required, with a mixed schedule of days, nights, and weekends to accommodate staffing needs.
