Job Description:

The RN in the PCU will care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, focusing on oncology patients and those in a trauma PCU. They are required to have chemotherapy certification and 1 year of experience. The role involves working with a mixed unit with a focus on oncology and trauma.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to oncology and trauma patients.
• Administer medications including chemotherapy, heparin, and cardizem.
• Titrate insulin and occasionally cardizem drips.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, and dietician.

Requirements:

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• ONS/ONCC certification required.
• 1 year of PCU or oncology nursing experience.
• Driver’s license required to verify compliance with the 50-mile radius rule.
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas.
• Experience with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
