Job Description:

The RN in the PCU provides specialized care to patients requiring intermediate care and supports the thoracic program. This unit handles downgraded CVICU patients and frequently works with the cath lab and structural heart teams.

Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips such as Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and cardizem for blood pressure management.
• Float to all same level and lower levels of acuity as needed.
• Maintain communication with hospitalists and intensivists in-house 24/7.
• Interpret tele/monitor strips; remote tele tech support available.

Requirements:

• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with intermediate care patient population.
• RNs must read and interpret telemetry.
