Job Description:

The RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide care for patients with moderate to severe health issues, operating within a critical care context and supporting overflow from the ICU. The role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to manage related equipment, and collaborative work with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care with a focus on critical care needs.
• Manage ventilator operation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations.
• Perform bed-side shift reports as a mandatory practice.
• Float to other units as needed based on hospital policy.

Requirements:

• Medical ICU experience in a large facility.
• Competence with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Critical thinker who is flexible and works well with others.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
