Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic team in delivering exceptional patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The unit is equipped with 20 beds and supports a patient ratio of 6:1. The role includes working the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and is designed for a professional who is committed to patient-centered care.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary available from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximeters, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Floating Policy

Contract labor will be the first to float, with decisions made by rotation when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.

Patient Experience Expectations

All staff are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members, including bedside shift reports and fostering personal connections throughout the care process.

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience preferred
• Ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.

Dress Code

Candidates are required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms).
