Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

Night shift: 1845 to 0715
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. No call required.

Minimum Experience

2 years of hospital acute care experience required.

Certifications/Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Hawaii RN License (must be obtained prior to the start of the assignment)

Unit Information

Progressive Care Unit includes:

• 15 bed unit
• 3 Step Down ICU beds
• 12 telemetry beds
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4 for Progressive Care; 1:3 for Step Down ICU

Job Duties

• Provide primary nursing care
• Monitor telemetry
• Read telemetry strips
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar testing

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis medication dispensing system
• BIPAP for respiratory support
• Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Required Skills

Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred, along with:

• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

Floating Requirements

The role requires floating to all acute care units including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and Emergency Room departments as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs are required.
