Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and will have completed at least one travel assignment. This role will involve caring for a diverse range of patient types and necessitates a variety of nursing skills.

Patient Types

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Respiratory Distress
• Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
• Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A-fib RVR)
• Diabetes Mellitus (DM)
• Blood Product Administration
• BiPAP Therapy
• Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) Overflow
• Post-Catheterization Patients
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Surgical Patients (vascular, abdominal, GI, etc.)

Patient Ratios

The expected patient ratios are as follows:

• 4:1 during the day
• 4-5:1 at night
• If floated to ICU, a maximum ratio of 1:3 for vascular and DKA patients

Required Skills

• Care for above patient types
• Management of chest tubes and wound vacs
• Dressing changes
• Monitoring femoral arterial sheaths
• Knowledge of DKA management
• Experience with BiPAP and High Flow Oxygen therapy
• Post-TCAR care
• Femoral Endarterectomy
• Arterial Line monitoring

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Other Details

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC
• Floating to PCU level or below throughout the organization
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• Shift Times: 1900-0730, 0700-1930
• Scrub Color: Any professional color

Facility Information

The position is within a non-profit community healthcare organization located in a medium-sized city with a total of 226 beds, including 20 ACU beds and 11 CCU beds.
