Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care in a telemetry unit with a focus on critical care. The assignment will last for 13 weeks with a rotating schedule of day and night shifts.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: IM/ISCU (Telemetry)
• Number of Beds: 47
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Unit Staffing: Split unit with Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Technicians available
• Documentation System: Meditech

Shift Details

• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Floating Policy: Required as needed

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Previous critical care experience preferred
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, and administration of various IV medications
  • Familiarity with the Meditech documentation system is an advantage
• Licensure: Active Texas RN License is required; temporary licenses will not be accepted

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
• Grooming: Neat and clean appearance; no extreme styles or colors
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible.
• Piercings: Visible piercings (other than ears) are prohibited

Additional Information

• All travelers are required to float, and must adhere to the floating policy.
• Attendance policies will be strictly enforced.
