Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The successful candidate will work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with both telemetry and step-down ICU capabilities.

Shift Information

Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. There is no guarantee of hours and no call responsibilities.

Unit Details

• 15-bed unit: 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 for Progressive Care; 1:3 for Step-down ICU.

General Job Duties

• Provide primary nursing care and perform telemetry monitoring.
• Interpret telemetry strips and conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests.
• Utilize Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medication administration.
• Operate BIPAP and conduct continuous cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital acute care setting within the last year.
• Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Current PALS certification is preferred.
• NIHSS certification is preferred.

Floating Requirements

The RN may be required to float to other acute units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs are required as part of the dress code.

Holiday coverage is required.
