Registered Nurse – Progressive Care

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit. This role is essential in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical conditions.

Unit Information

• Progressive Care Unit (16 beds)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4

Patient Population

The ideal candidate will be responsible for caring for patients experiencing:

• Sepsis
• Heart Failure
• Hypertensive Emergencies
• Respiratory Failure
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Chronic Kidney Disease
• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (TDM2)
• Substance Abuse
• Encephalopathy

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be expected to:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Administer heparin drips and other medications as prescribed
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and response to treatment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care or acute care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required

Contract Details

This position is for a 48-hour contract with an expected start date as soon as possible.
