Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population recovering from various surgical procedures.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 26
• Staff Configuration: Varies based on shift requirements
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Type of Staff:
  • Day Shift: Charge Nurse and typically a float nurse
  • Night Shift: Two PACU nurses on closed on-call
• Equipment: State of the art medical technology
• EMR: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities include providing high-quality care to patients in the PACU, monitoring patient recovery, administering medications, and collaborating with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Preferred Skills:
  • Additional relevant nursing experience
• Certifications: Current ACLS certification required

Work Schedule

Shifts may vary with times including 8 AM – 8 PM, 9 AM – 9 PM, or 10 AM – 10 PM. On-call availability is required, with one night a week and two weekends during a 13-week contract.

Dress Code

Scrubs in royal blue or approved hospital attire are required.
