Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac RNFA to join our team. This position requires the ability to assist with chest exposure and closing, as well as the capability to independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs).

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing during cardiac surgeries.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for CABGs.
• Support DaVinci robotic cases, if experienced.
• Scrub and circulate on complex cardiac cases, as needed, including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), and minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement).
• Manage heart failure cases (e.g., Impella) and actively participate in heart transplant procedures when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Telemetry proficiency.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily on weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM, with on-call responsibilities as needed by the unit.
