Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.

Schedule

• Orientation: Mandatory orientation will be billable.
• Initial Schedule: Monday 8-hour day shift; subsequent shifts to be determined.
• Regular Schedule: 10-hour shifts, rotating from Monday to Friday.
• Weekend Requirement: On-call availability is required.
• Holiday Requirement: On-call availability is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of surgical rooms and equipment.
• Provide care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and manage their care through various procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in continuous education and professional development.

The RN will be involved in a variety of surgical specialties, including:

• General Surgery
• Gynecology (GYN)
• Urology
• Robotic Surgery (Davinci)
• Orthopedics
• Neurosurgery and Spine
• Podiatry
• ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)
• Plastic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Ophthalmology (Eyes)
• Trauma

Qualifications

• Must have a current Alaska nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; 5 years preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS required.
• New graduates are not accepted for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

Free housing is provided for one occupant; however, pet units are not available. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
