Operating Room Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 16-week contract position. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced operating room environment.

Schedule Details

• Orientation: Monday, with all orientation time being billable
• Regular Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; 10-hour days with rotating shifts from Monday to Friday
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, on-call for weekend shifts
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, on-call for holiday shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and management of surgical instruments and supplies
• Provide care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures, including General, GYN, Urology, Robotics in Gen/GYN/Urology, Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Podiatry, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Eyes, and Trauma
• Coordinate with surgeons and other medical personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition during procedures
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols within the operating room

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience is required; preferred experience is 5 years
• Candidates must hold certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS
• New graduates will not be considered

Additional Information

Free housing is provided for one occupant; however, pet accommodations are not available. Candidates must have reliable transportation for travel to and from the facility.

All required credentials are due by the Wednesday prior to the starting date. Payroll is processed weekly.
