Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a 24-bed unit focused on providing exceptional care to oncology patients. This position requires collaboration and teamwork among staff members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 24
• Number of Staff: 42
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
• Equipment: Standard unit equipment
• EMR System: Cerner

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Active RN License
  • BLS Certification
• Preferred: Chemo Certification

Responsibilities

The Oncology RN will participate in the following standard procedures:

• Occasional pelvic exams
• Echo and thoracentesis

Unit Guidelines and Policies

• Adherence to basic hospital policies and guidelines is required.

Work Schedule

• Weekend shifts are required, with a commitment of 6 weekend days per schedule.
• Call is rare for this position.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is preferred.

Dress Code

• RNs: Navy, white, or a combination of both colors
• CNAs: Galaxy Blue
