Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in an oncology setting, working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Number of Staff: 42
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
• Type of Equipment: Standard unit equipment
• EMR: Cerner

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients.
• Assist with procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis as needed.
• Document patient care in compliance with hospital policies and EMR guidelines.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Must-Have Skills:
• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Preferred Skills:
• Chemotherapy certification

Work Environment

This position is located in Asheville, NC, on the 9th floor. The unit consists of a supportive team atmosphere, and staff rarely float to other units.

Schedule Requirements

Staff is required to work six weekend days per schedule, with minimal call requirements.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
