NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced NICU Registered Nurses to join a dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidates will provide high-quality care in a Level III NICU environment, working with a range of critical cases, including premature infants. This is an excellent opportunity for travel nurses looking to enhance their experience in neonatal care.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: NICU
• Number of Beds: 34
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3-4
• Charge Nurse: Yes, one per shift
• Common Diagnoses: Includes 24-week gestation infants; no surgical services, cooling, or ECMO available

Certifications Required

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Equipment and Technology

• EMR System: EPIC
• Monitoring Technology: Phillips cardiac monitors
• Ventilation Equipment: Drager 500
• IV Team: NICU PICC team
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy Support: Available 8 hours/day, with house support after hours

Scheduling and Orientation

• Shift: Nights
• Scheduling: Schedules are created in 6-week blocks and posted two weeks in advance
• Floating Requirements: May float to Post Partum as needed
• Orientation: Floor-specific orientation provided
• Weekend Requirement: Weekends as needed
• Holidays: Yes, holiday shifts are required

Additional Information

We are looking for 3-4 night shift travel nurses to support the unit during the summer season, with the possibility of extension through the holiday season.
