Position Overview

This is a backfill contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a medical-surgical unit, scheduled for a 13-week assignment with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The unit focuses on providing high-quality care in a collaborative environment.

Unit Information

• Location: 3 East, City, State
• Number of Beds: 28
• Staff Members: 32 FTEs
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
• Type of Staff:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
• Equipment Used: Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, Telemetry
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• BLS Certification
• Previous Hospital Experience

Preferred Skills:

• 3 or more years of nursing experience
• Experience in Epilepsy Care

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit. This includes administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans. The RN will also be expected to maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all care protocols are followed.
