Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a travel position for a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) within a dynamic healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be integral to patient care on a 30-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Staffing: 2-3 technicians per shift, a clinical coordinator (on varied days), charge nurse, manager, and director available
• Type of Equipment: Wound vac, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanner, feeding pump, telemetry
• Documentation System: Editech
• Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday rotation with no guaranteed block scheduling
• Floating Policy: Will float between units as necessary

Patient Experience Expectations

Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude, effectively meet the needs of patients and families, manage service recovery when necessary, and escalate problems through the appropriate chain of command.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Must Have: IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, cardiac rhythms knowledge
• Advanced Skills Required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Procedures Performed: Lab draws and IV starts
• Certifications: BLS certification required

Dress Code

Employees are required to wear navy scrubs; fleece or sweatshirts are not permitted.
