Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients during the childbirth process, collaborating with medical staff, and ensuring the well-being of both mothers and newborns.

Unit Information

Location: Asheville, NC

• Number of Beds: 16
• Staffing: 120 personnel dedicated to providing optimal maternal and infant care
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2
• Equipment: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring systems
• EMR: Cerner, Fetal ink

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor and delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs
• Assist with medical procedures such as vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Provide immediate newborn care and education to families
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Experience with high-risk patients
• Proficient in immediate newborn care

Preferred Skills

• Experience in circulating roles during surgeries

Certifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS/ALS (Basic Life Support/Advanced Life Support)
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
