Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Unit Information

This Labor and Delivery unit features a comprehensive setup to provide exceptional care for expectant mothers and newborns.

• Number of Beds: 10 Labor Beds, 13 Postpartum Beds, and 2 Operating Rooms
• Staffing: Includes 4-5 Labor RNs, 2 Postpartum RNs, an OB scrub tech, Lactation consultants, and a Level 2 NICU with 2 RNs available 24/7.
• In-House Coverage: 24/7 OB Hospitalist and Neonatology provider.

General Information

Shifts:

• Day Shift: 4-5 Labor RNs and 2 Postpartum RNs
• Night Shift: Same staffing as day shift

Patient Ratios: Varied based on labor stages.

Equipment: Labor tubs for midwifery patients and a fetal monitoring system.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech and CPN.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.

• OB Emergency Department (Triage)

Required Certifications

• Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM)

Floating Areas

Assist in Postpartum if required.

Dress Code

Scrubs are provided by the facility.

Weekend Requirements

One to two weekend shifts per month preferred.
