Unit Information

Location: San Jose, CA

Unit Type: Labor and Delivery

• Number of Beds: 10
• Staffing: 120 personnel including RNs, charge nurses, unit clerks, and CNAs based on patient census
• Patient Ratios: In compliance with CA Title 22
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech/CPN

Position Overview

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period. The role necessitates collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Labor and Delivery unit
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver care to patients during labor and delivery
• Perform and assist with various labor and delivery procedures, including deliveries and C-sections
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations

Work Environment

Shift assignments will include rotating weekends as per the collective bargaining agreement. The position is expected to function within a dynamic team-oriented environment where the best personality fit is considered a team player.

Dress Code

Scrub attire is required, and specific colors may be mandated by unit policies.
