Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience in a hospital setting, along with travel experience. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in postpartum care, couplet care, and circulating for C-Sections.

Schedule and Availability

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, with a preference for immediate start dates available on October 12, October 26, or November 9. The nurse will be expected to work:

• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• 3 additional shifts in a 6-week period when on-call
• Holidays as per unit requirements

Qualifications

• Active AK state RN license
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience; 5+ years preferred

Unit Information

The unit consists of a 17-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) area handling approximately 80 deliveries per month. RNs in this unit will work across labor, postpartum, couplet care, and triage.

Additional Information

This position includes free housing for one occupant, with the requirement that the candidate’s permanent residence must be located 50+ miles outside of Fairbanks. Up to 14 days off may be requested, including a maximum of 4 weekend shifts; all requests for time off must be made at the time of submission.
