Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

• Number of Beds: 7 Pre/Post Bays, 2 Procedural Suites
• Accepting travelers with 1 year of experience
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience

Patient Types

Experience with the following patient types is required:

• Outpatient and Inpatient
• Biopsies
• UFE’s
• Kyphoplasties
• Port placements
• Diagnostic angiograms
• Interventional arterial procedures
• Interventional venous procedures
• IVC placement
• Venous thrombectomies
• Neurological thrombectomies
• Coiling
• Aneurysm rupture repair
• Paracentesis
• Thoracentesis

Patient Ratios

• 1:1 in procedure rooms
• Up to 1:3 in the pre/post area

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Required Skills

• ICU care
• Moderate sedation
• Arterial line management
• Medication titration
• Chest tube management
• Neuro experience, including thrombectomies, aneurysm coils, and carotid stents

Support on the Unit

• Charge nurse available
• 1 RN and 2-3 Techs in each procedural room

Technology and Equipment

• EMR: Cerner
• IV Pumps: Plum 360
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Spacelabs

Floating

Staff may float to other procedural areas as long as skillset applies (e.g., cath lab pre/post area).

Orientation

Orientation includes:

• 2 shifts in the unit
• 1-2 shifts in education/onboarding

Scheduling

The unit operates:

• Routine procedures: Monday to Friday from 0630 to 1630
• Emergency availability: 24/7

Staffing dependent on call typically includes:

• 2 RNs and 1 Tech for the call team

Holiday Expectations

Staff will be treated equally, and holiday coverage will be required as follows:

• 1 Winter holiday (Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s)
• 1 Summer holiday (July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day)

• Scrub Color: Any color (green provided if in procedure)
• Parking: In assigned areas of the hospital parking deck
