Job Description:

This position involves providing care for complex ICU patients in a mixed unit with medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. Candidates must have significant ICU experience and be familiar with handling various critical care treatments and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for ICU patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses.
• Administer and manage IV medications, including vasopressors and sedation.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic lines and ventilators.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and assessment skills in a team setting.
• Support colleagues and assist in the education of nursing students as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (must be willing to obtain before arrival).
• Competency with Epic charting system and experience in a similar ICU setting.
• Comfortable working a 48-hour per week contract.
• Completion of a board-approved nursing education program and valid RN license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
