General Information

• Number of Beds: 29
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Unit Staffing Description: Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs available
• Type of Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, Imobile for communication
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
• Floating Policy: Contract nurses may float to any area where competency is demonstrated.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, being responsive to call lights, and involving patients in bedside shift report.

Qualifications

• Must Have: Experience in cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU, including the ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips.
• Advanced Skills Required: Experience with post-cardiac procedural care such as ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements. Capable of administering and titrating IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
• Procedures Performed on Unit: IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, and Foley insertions.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs required. Black scrub pants may be paired with navy blue tops.
