ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This position involves caring for critically ill patients and requires a strong foundation in intensive care nursing.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 34
• Nurse-Patient Ratios:
  • 1:1-2 in ICU
  • 1:4-5 in PCU
  • 1:5-6 in Med Surg

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• Adult and Pediatric patients over 15 years old
• Neurological surgeries
• Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS
• Sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock
• Renal failure, general surgery
• Psychiatric disorders and overdoses
• Gastrointestinal bleeds
• Cancer-specific surgeries

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions
• Titrate medications, including vasopressors, paralytics, and sedation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and medical staff
• Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology
• Participate in rapid response and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Certifications:
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • NIHSS Certification
• Skills: Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills.

Additional Information

• Shift Details: 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: 2 out of 3 major holidays or as needed
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Orientation: 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
