ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be prepared to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Shift: 12-hour Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 2 years of ICU experience

Mandatory Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 8
• Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner
• Specialties: General medical/surgical population, including stable CVA post-TPA, respiratory failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, and DKA. No CABG or neuro surgeries.

Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for the following:

• Providing exceptional care to critically ill patients
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitoring and interpreting patient conditions and vital signs
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilizing telemedicine technologies for consultations
• Floating to other facilities within the region as needed

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts with scheduled breaks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Participate in holiday scheduling with core staff
• Self-scheduling options available, allowing travelers to manage their availability and make shift trades

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation, including 1-2 days on the floor with a preceptor to facilitate a smooth transition into the role.

Additional Information

• Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts must be navy, white, or black; scrub jackets optional but must be navy)
• Telemetry Skills: Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Ventilators: Experience with Gallileo and G5 ventilators is expected
• Support Services: Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy are available 24/7
