ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit: Oncology ICU

Number of Beds: 10

Staffing: 4 staff members

• Day Shift: 1 charge RN, additional RNs based on patient census.
• Night Shift: 1 charge RN, additional RNs based on patient census.

Patient Care and Equipment

Patient Ratios: 2:1

Equipment Utilized: Ventilators, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Arterial Lines, BiPAP, Flow-track monitors, IV Pumps.

Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Mandatory Skills:
  • Strong experience in ICU settings, including titrating drips.
  • Familiarity with caring for patients on ventilators.
  • Experience managing BiPAP patients.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
  • Background in transplant care (Kidney, Pancreas, Liver).

Typical Procedures

• Total care of critically ill patients.
• Management of dressing changes, turning patients, and tracheostomy care.
• Titration of medication drips as needed.

The best candidates will be compassionate, possess strong teamwork skills, and establish good rapport with physicians.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS

Floating Requirements

The role may require floating to all ICUs, PCU, and BMT units.

Dress Code

Uniforms: Blue scrubs are required.

Scheduling Information

Shifts will include rotating weekends, with reporting times at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM. Employees must clock in and out for lunch during their shifts.
