Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neuro/spine patient care and experience with high-acuity cases. This position requires the ability to handle complex medical situations and provide high-quality care to critically ill patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least one completed travel assignment.
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
• Experience with patient types including neuro/spine, pressors, and management of high FiO2 BiPAP patients.
• Competency in handling chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths.
• Experience with DKA management, BiPAP, High Flow, post-TCAR, femoral endarterectomy, and arterial lines is essential.
• Preferred experience with Impella and/or IABP; candidates must be able to demonstrate competency in these areas during the assignment.

Position Details

• Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1; may change to 1:1 based on patient acuity.
• Shift Times: 1900-0730 and 0700-1930.
• Floating responsibilities may include ICU or lower care units throughout the hospital.
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend required.

Work Environment

This role is within a 226-bed non-profit community facility, which includes 20 Acute Care Unit (ACU) beds and 11 Coronary Care Unit (CCU) beds. The position emphasizes teamwork and high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.

Electronic Medical Records

Familiarity with EPIC is preferred.
