Job Title: RN (Registered Nurse), Hospice

City/State: Carmichael, California

Shift: 8H Days; 0730 or 0800 start time, every other weekend, first to float

Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description:

This role involves working in the Inpatient Palliative Care unit, where the RN carries a case load, visits new and follow-up patients, and engages in goals of care discussions, education, and supports end of life discussions. Acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Developing patient daily list
• Reviewing patient charts and assessing patient needs
• Opening goals of care discussions
• Education on disease process, advance directives, and POLSTs
• Holding family meetings as needed
• End of life discussions/support
• Attending daily rounds

Requirements:

• Must have 2-5 years of recent experience in palliative and/or hospice setting
• ICU and/or oncology experience is a plus
• Strong acute care, clinical thinking, and communication skills necessary
• Flexibility and strong organizational skills required
• BLS Certification
• ELNEC preferred (end of life care certification)
