Registered Nurse (RN) / Emergency Department

Position Overview

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients within the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with state regulations and hospital policies while demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in the care delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for delivering quality care to Emergency Room patients.
• Conduct thorough assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned caregiving personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• NRP and ENPC certifications preferred.
• Ability to float to different departments, primarily ICU, if needed.

Additional Information

• Patient Ratio: 4:1.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required, with blocked scheduling not permitted.
• Fingerprinting is a requirement for all traveling staff.
• EMR system utilized: MedHost (EDIS).

This position is located in a busy Emergency Department with an emphasis on efficient and effective patient care. The Registered Nurse will be involved in high-stakes clinical situations, requiring a calm demeanor and effective communication skills.
