Registered Nurse (RN) / Emergency Department

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing exceptional care to patients in the Emergency Room by employing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize critical thinking skills and scientific judgment to enhance patient care.
• Demonstrate leadership by anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of the available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel involved in patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Possess an active Arizona nursing license.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended, but not required.

Working Conditions

The position involves night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The Registered Nurse must be willing to float to other areas as needed.

Facility Information

This emergency department is certified as a Trauma Level III facility and is a designated Stroke and STEMI Receiving Center.

Dress Code

The standard dress code for nursing staff in this department requires black scrubs.
