Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

We are currently seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is located in Roanoke, VA.

Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 8
• Daily Staff Members: 6
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 2 RNs, 1 EMT, 2 Mid Shifts RNs
  • Night Shift: 2 Night RNs
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Type of Equipment: GE
• EMR System: Meditech

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for:

• Providing care for high and low acuity ED patients.
• Administering medications and managing critical care for patients.
• Performing necessary laboratory tests.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Required Skills:
  • Experience in caring for critically ill patients.
  • Experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Preferred Skills:
  • ENPC certification.

Personality Fit

The successful candidate should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• PALS
• BLS
• TNCC

Work Schedule

This position requires commitment to weekend shifts. You will have the opportunity to work 4 weekend shifts as part of your schedule.

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 2 years of experience is required for this role.

Dress Code

Please wear navy blue scrubs as part of the uniform.
