Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Unit Staffing: Unit secretary available 21 hours a day; 5 RNs on core staff from 10 AM to 10 PM
• Equipment: Level 1 fluid warmer, GE monitor system, Artic Sun, Lifepak, Alaris pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Every third weekend; mid-shift schedule from 10 AM to 10:30 PM or 1 PM to 1:30 AM
• Floating Policy: Rare, only if other staff have been flexed home
• Patient Experience: Utilization of AIDET and whiteboards; positive attitudes are required

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a level 2 trauma center required
• Certifications: Current RN license in Kansas and ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, NIH required; CEN or TCRN certification preferred
• Skills: Knowledge in trauma care, STEMI care, stroke care, sepsis management, and triage required
• Procedures: Familiarity with all procedures associated with a level 2 trauma center

Dress Code

Required uniform includes a cobalt blue top and black or cobalt blue pants. Solid color and closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
