Emergency Room Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekends in a 6-week schedule
• Floating: May float within Zone 1 in case of extreme need

Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Nurse, your duties will include:

• Providing direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Managing patient triage and prioritizing care based on clinical need.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitoring patients’ conditions and making clinical decisions accordingly.
• Maintaining detailed patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ENPC or PALS
  • NIHSS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience with TNCC and NIHSS is preferred.

Unit Information

The Emergency Department consists of:

• Trauma Level: IV
• Number of Beds: 15
• Trauma Bays: 2
• Average Daily Patient Volume: 35+
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4

Patients typically present with a variety of conditions, including:

• Abdominal Pain
• Chest Pain
• Fever
• Cough
• Dyspnea
• Headaches
• Injuries
• Extremity Pain

Additional Information

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed.
• Security personnel are present in-house 24/7.
• Dedicated Psych/seclusion rooms are available.
• Navy Blue scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
