Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Facility Type: 24/7 Free Standing Emergency Department

Number of Beds: 15

Staffing Details

Day Shift: 06:30 – 18:30

• 3 Registered Nurses (RNs)
• 1 EMT-P or Nurse Extern (09:00 – 18:30)

Night Shift: 18:30 – 06:30

• 3 Registered Nurses (RNs)
• 1 EMT-P (17:00 – 01:00)

Patient Care Information

Patient Ratios: 1:4 depending on acuity

Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, Hamilton ventilators, GE cardiac monitors, Stryker stretchers, etc.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Compassionate care approach
• Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency
• Team player mentality
• Proficiency in rapidly identifying Sepsis, STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with airway management and ventilators
• Strong critical thinking skills

Typical Procedures

• Splinting
• Wound care
• IV starts
• Medication administration
• Patient assessments and reassessments
• Documentation and oversight of EMT-Ps

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate caregiver with a non-abrasive approach to patient care.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ALS
• TNCC
• CPI or equivalent
• PALS or ENPC

Work Schedule

Requires availability to work every other weekend. No on-call duties required.

Policies

Employees must clock out for lunch breaks and any time leaving the facility. Communication with the Charge Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is mandatory regarding clocking out.

Floating Information

Currently, the unit is typically staffed to core levels, which minimizes the need for floating between emergency departments.
