Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Pasadena, TX

Unit Overview: This Emergency Department features 30 beds and is staffed by 49 FTEs, 6 PRN staff, and 2 leadership positions.

General Information

• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients (acuity dependent)
• Equipment: Advanced monitors, defibrillators, ultrasound, and EKG machines
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Currently utilizing Meditech and transitioning to Expanse

Qualifications

Essential Skills: Candidates must possess advanced critical thinking skills and extensive experience with trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis.

Preferred Experience: Candidates with both adult and pediatric emergency department experience will be prioritized.

Certifications Required:

• ENPC
• TNCC
• ACLS
• PALS
• BLS
• CPI with TIC
• (NRP and STABLE certifications are a plus)

Typical Procedures

• Thoracotomy
• Arterial lines and massive transfusion protocols (MTP)

Work Environment

Best Personality Fit: Candidates should be flexible, accountable, responsible, and team-oriented.

Work Schedule: Alternate weekends are required.

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs are required, in accordance with the dress code policy.

Floating Information

There may be occasions where staff will need to float to two free-standing emergency departments if necessary.
